Cecil I. Whitmer, 76, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Baptist Healthcare Louisville.
He was born November 4, 1938 in Muhlenburg County, the son of the late Braxton M. Whitmer and Blanche M. Danner Whitmer and was a retired produce manager at Valu Market for many years.
He is survived by his daughters, Laura Lynne Whitmer, Karen Sue May (Mike) and Dana M. Hendrick (Gary); three grandchildren, Bradley M. and Brandon M. Jacobs and Emily A. Hendrick; siblings, Darrell Whitmer, Daisy Keith, Geneva Beckman, Wayne Whitmer (Jean), Brenda Franck and Jim Whitmer (Sharon) and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Cecil was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, boating and gardening. But his true passion was his dedication to his family. He helped raise his three girls, and was married to his wife of 51 years, Clara Randazzo Whitmer, before her passing in 2011.
Funeral services for Mr. Whitmer will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville with Deacon Gerry Mattingly from Saint Francis Xavier in Mount Washington presiding. Burial will follow at Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and after 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.
Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to the American Cancer.
Please Pray Cecil's joy and eternal rest in the Kingdom, and peace and comfort for his family and friends.
