Obituary for parishioner, Ellen Napier

Ellen Napier, 70, entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 after a tough but gracious battle with lymphoma and colon cancer.  A veteran of Bullitt County Public Schools, Ellen served as gifted education coordinator for many years, donating her passion, time, and talent to developing the youth of Bullitt County. An avid University of Louisville fan, she will be missed in the stands of the football and basketball games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lida Ballard; and brothers and sisters, Wallace Ballard, Sue Ritchie and Tilly Beaven.  She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Moise Napier; step-daughter, Toni Dorris (Greg); grandchildren, Leslie Dorris and Ashley Byerley (Kevin); and two great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Badgett, Virginia Ballard and Judy Platt (Ron); brothers, Happy (Lois) and Howard (Jackie) Ballard; multiple nieces and nephews; adored grand and great granddogs; and a host of other family members and friends.

Deacon Gerry Mattingly will preside at Ellen's funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with Brother Billy Compton, pastor of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington, assisting. Burial will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from     1 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington, or the American Cancer Society.

Please Pray for Ellen's eternal rest and joy in the Kingdom, and peace and comfort for her family and friends.
