Joseph Lawrence Mattingly, 76, of Mt. Washington, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Baptist Health.
Joe was a native of Lebanon, KY, a retired employee of Ford Motor Co. KTP, where he worked for 35 years, a Kentucky Colonel, an Army veteran, and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir. Joe was an avid golfer and UK fan. He enjoyed softball, and played for Charlie's Boys and Ulrich Softball teams, and coached many years for little league baseball in Mt. Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ham and Elizabeth Mattingly Sr.; and siblings, Bernard Mattingly and Betty Miles. Joe is survived by his wife, Diane Beavers Mattingly; two daughters, Stacy Mattingly and Heather Cummins (Chad); one son, Scott Mattingly; two sisters, Mary Catherine Mattingly and Margaret Chelf (Frank); four brothers, Harold (Darlene), Frank (Kathy), Bill (Laura), and Ham Jr. (Mary); and a brother-in-law, Charles Miles; along with three grandchildren, Tyler Mattingly, Saige and Bristol Cummins.
The Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.
